MicroFIT Explained
Ontario Government Solar Program
Solar system is connected to the local grid so the electricity generated from it could be fed directly to the grid. Under microFIT, all electricity is sold back to the grid at premium rates to give home owners the best rate of return on their investment. A solar system is installed on a house rooftop. Electricity is generated during using Sun rays and all the electricity is sold back to the grid at premium rates under a 20 year contact. See diagram above.
